What we know

Those with mental health conditions are more likely to smoke. Many smokers with mental health conditions want to quit and want to know about services and resources to help. Evidence shows that people with mental health conditions can stop using tobacco.


What you can do

If you have been diagnosed with a mental health condition such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia, talk with your behavioral and medical health care professionals about quitting.

Today there are more ways available to help you quit than ever before! Your health care providers can help to determine what quit–smoking medications would work best for you, and may also provide behavioral support, or help you find additional support for your quit process.
